FBI STORM WORM VIRUS WARNING-Truth!

The FBI has issued an alert about an email that talks about the FBI and the popular social networking site FaceBook. It entices you to click a link to find out more but if you
do, you’ll be infected with the Storm Worm virus. It doesn’t harm your computer but does make the computer part of a vast network of home and office computers that are
then used to send out spam and other bad stuff.

Well, its news journal 56 of Trend Micro

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

In this edition of Trend Micro’s News Letter we see what threats were successful, and how the rest of the year will shape up. On the old blog, I mentioned that this was going to get very ugly, in which Spam will be a continued problem. Here on the blog, while I don’t promote spam on here, I can’t stop it. For now, I will be moderating everything coming in the blog, but that is the best thing to do right now as we start fresh. I think they forget to mention one thing. That is that blogs are just as a part of today’s threat base, in my opinionm, as it is web 2.0. However, now that I think about it, they did say that web 2.0 apps will be a part of what will be coming. We as a disabled community especially need to pay attention to what goes on as we can’t see a lot of what happens, reading and asking questions will help us stay safe. You may read this newsletter, and then comment if you wish. You will need to register to comment and you’ll be prompted to register/login so you can do so. We’ll have more, for sure.

Is GW Micro being sued?

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Edited as HTML was not showing at 12:19 PM PT.
I just read a post from GW Micro, and I suggest you read the blog post from Doug for yourself. There are to date 46 comments on this post, and I expect it to grow. I remember the other FS suit, and that was a little more questionable, but knowing According to this blogpost that GW is getting sued because of a product upgrade? Come on. We’ll hope that GW does not have to give up the hard work within this business. Competition is a good thing. I can agree that if there is a patent problem, companies should talk to each other, but seeing that GW did not get called, or anything before these filings, just goes to show that Freedom Scientific is doing this to try and get everyone out of business. Thats ashame because while I do not use any of their products much any more, trying to shut everyone else down is not the answer. You need to work with them. The blind access journal article entitled: Freedom Scientific Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against GW Micro may go in to more detail on what is going on, and has more information on the whole case. For GW Micro’s sake, I hope we can win at some level. We’ll definately keep you posted on the latest as soon as we get it across our desk.

Brand new blog, all new posts

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Hi all,

I’d like to thank Shaun Everess for letting me know that the blog was broken.  At least the older one.  I think it was my fault.  But, be that as it may, we are starting a brand new blog, with all new content.  I have archives of all the older podcasts, and a page with inofrmation will be written later with contact info, listening options, and more.  Categories will also be created.  Technology isn’t perfect, but we will get it straight and I think a new start may be a good thing.  In any case, enjoy the new blog, more soon including podcast 68 of the technology series coming this next week.  Take care.
