Hi all.
This is a review.
I was recomended a program called softmaker office from softmaker.com
Here is the review.
note i didn’t check the excell like planning app but I assume its graphical.
The text one seems to work ok.
The big turn off that would still get me going to jarte or openoffice is the registration and other dialog boxes in general.
These don’t read with jaws 6.2 hal 5.21 or nvda 2010.1beta1.
In jaws I had to go to the curser to get the registration screen which was a web page and worked.
however I couldn’t enter my serial.
The program is supposed to be better than openoffice however its only the 2006 version and you then have to pay for the latest.
And therefore its not truely free software in my book.
Although I did not find any suspicious spyware etc during uninstall the launcher program did not close at all or rather it did not run resulting in a program crash.
A rerun of the uninstall removed the last bits of the program or at least it said all the folders and such are gone.
There are free fonts though so maybe that may work for you.
The best office currently is ms office 02 or 03 or lower.
or jarte.
Openoffice will get better and is good for what it is.
