What’s going on with email spoofing?

I’ve had this article talking about email spoofing and I used a quote within this article on an upcoming project I’m launching.

The article is a Phishlabs article titled What is Email Spoofing?

The section I took from talks about spoofing using legitamate domains. That says:

And according to Agari’s 2022 Email Fraud & Identity Deception Trends
report, email spoofing and phishing increased by a whopping 220% over 2021.

If anyone knows more about email problems, it would be these guys over at Phishlabs.

The headings within the article include:

  • Types of Email Spoofing
  • Example of Spoofing Using Display Name Deception
  • Example of Spoofing Using Legitimate Domains
  • Example of Spoofing Using Lookalike Domains
  • Example of Spoofing Using Business Email Compromise
  • Preventing Email Spoofing in Your Inboxes

The article is very comprehensive, and really worth the read. I enjoyed reading it, but that stat really jumped out at me, and its a big deal.
