Multiple counties hit with Ransomware lately

Scott Schober, a friend of the network contributes to Cyber Crime Radio and its podcasts.

I found the podcast and subscribed. He reported several counties in different states that were hit with ransomware and I found Washington County, Md., Hit With Thanksgiving Day Cyber Attack on my twitter.

I think he also has something on Virginia, but I didn’t find that one yet.

A week ago though, he did post about a Cincinati college in Ohio that was ransomed too.

While I don’t want to post every single thing, because it’ll be impossible to do, we need to know about some of these things.

I can only post about stuff if OI see it or its posted to TSB’s list. I can only do so much.

We know Ransomeware can be a problem, and it is definitely a problem in Maryland at this time.

This starts with human prevention, right? If a human gets an email and they understand wht to look for, they can prevent problems like this. Since we are human, we are going to make mistakes, no matter how careful we are.

Let’s continue to push the message of what is out there like these stories and enforce what to look for if we can so we can try to do better the next time.

Stay safe, gang.
