A new attack using sound and air gapped equipment

This is not the first time that air gapped equipment such as phones and other devices has been used. This one, titled Casper, uses the sound waves that can be heard at high frequencies.

The results of this is going to be slow. 20 bits to exfiltrate is quite slow, but can be accomplished. The sound is going to be higher than most we humans can hear.

The way to get around this, unplug speakers that are not necessary, says the article.

The bleeping computer article I spotted on Mastodon is titled CASPER attack steals data using air-gapped computer’s internal speaker.

What do you think of this? Something interesting? Other malware is discussed within this article as well

Above are some images in the article for those who are sighted. Alt text was provided and I took those. This is going to get interesting, although one point I didn’t mention which should be mentioned is that an attack like this will be limited.
