Here’s an update on the Lastpass situation from this past week

Earlier this past week, I wrote about the fake lastpass app.

Let’s talk a little bit more about the differences between the two apps. The original is called Lastpass, while the other is called lasspass (no t.)

This is really why you need as a consumer to verify what you’re getting. I can’t stress it enough.

A password manager LastPass calls “fraudulent” booted from App Store is the article written and updated by Ars Technica.

At first glance, the Lastpass folk knew there were similarities in logo with their app and the fake one. The next thing we now know is that the page that was being used as a link to privacy policy info now is generic. The domain was only recently baught.

The fake app also had fields where users could in theory put in a bunch of info similarly to what Lastpass offers.
