Cloudflare blocked 3.4 billion emails last year, what holds for this year?

This is going to be one of these with tons of stats. But what is most interesting about it is the discussion of TLD usage. While .shop is still in the mix, we now have .beauty as part of the mix too. We also continue to see .top and several others.

Seems as though my magic spam tool I so love is back, because I was looking some days ago and I do see things being rejected by different types of TLD domains within this list.

The Cybernews article is titled Cloudflare blocked 3.4B unwanted emails last year.

I wonder what this year will bring? Probably tons more.

While I could break down the article, it does a great job talking for itself, but it is interesting.

Can you imagine blocking 9.3 million emails per day? Part of the increase is customer signups, but they also have blocked bulk messages too, even if they were legitimate. Sending to 25 or more customers or people? Better just sign up for an email list somewhere, as bulk miling without using software can be a problem. I have experience with this which is why I use mailing lists.

Only 3 percent of all email processed were phishing, but that’s within their entire customer base. There’s a lot more, so read the article and see for yourself.
