There are two articles, one I spotted and skipped which I recently read and another that goes in to a lot more detail. The articles are:
- OpenAI: ChatGPT users will no longer have to sign up for access Cybernews
- OpenAI drops login requirements for ChatGPT’s free version Ars Technica
Both are similarly written, but Ars goes in to much more detail including the fact that children could in theory use the application. Both articles say that there will be safeguards, but we really don’t know what that means.
When I learned about chat gpt, I was curious, until I learned that I had to register. I never did. Then we have Be my Eyes AI which I use in certain circumstances, and then Jaws now has in their latest March release an opt in picture smart update to help describe images which I enabled. But even with that option, I’m not going to give it every single picture I come across either.
I know we must be smart with the technology we’ve gotten, and I’m not going to give it everything I come across whether I pay for it or not.
With this said, I’d be curious what the Chat GPT says but not curious enough to hand over data that it could learn from if it doesn’t know about it already.
Both articles indicate that it uses the version that is 3.5 which has been known to spue out info that may be considered wrong, according to people who’ve used it.
This is not available everywhere yet, stay tuned to see when it does become available.
