Ibis budget hotels hacked, we’re only finding out about it now, Ibis does not put out statement

Here we go with another company who does not put out a statement after learning that its Hotel or any of its properties.

The thing of it is, this vulnerability has since been fixed, but the company has still not put out any type of statement about the issue they fixed.

I’ve decided to look at Hackread to see what else we might be reporting on and found this.

To read the Ibis article, Vulnerability Exposed Ibis Budget Guest Room Codes to Hackers is that article.

Suffice it to say, if you used the self kiosks, your room code could be on the screen for others to see and you can be exposed.

I don’t know how they could prevent that, as once you check in, you need a code to access the room.

I guess they could print out your code, or put a note on the screen to see the front desk for the code.

Apparently, this agency is in multiple countries.

Have fun with this one!
