We Blogged about Recall thanks to Kevin Bowmont’s excellent article written in a question and answer format. We then blogged about the fact that CyberNews was telling people why it was a good idea to turn off the feature.
While only Snapdragon based PCs will be running this now, Microsoft says in the article we’ll be linking to that they will make it available to Intel and other based processors.
To better make things right, you’ll need to set up Windows Hello. This makes sure that the database stays encrypted, although I bet Malware could still pilfer the data anyway. It could be in fact encrypted which would really mess up the actors, so we’ll see.
We also blogged the initial announcement about this dangerous option coming to a Windows version near you.
I hope that people don’t activate it, proactively or not. It seems like at some point we won’t have the option, but they’ll start this way for now.
To read the entire article including Microsoft’s explanation on how this works, read the article titled Microsoft makes Windows Recall opt-in, secures data with Windows Hello.

Hmmm.
And I’d take as much of that as its worth.
My experience with ms especially its support system etc is while it maybe on most of our pcs thanks to ibm, I have almost 0 trust in the company.
I mean its that or linux and I like the interface and its what everyone uses mostly.
But if ms are the borg, well I work here right?
It doesn’t mean I have to like or use all functions.
In the end ai and all this extra stuff will end us because we do useless things like this.
I see no reason why we should have recall.
I also don’t see any reason why ms account, helo, cryptolocker and a lot of the stuff ms has is usefull for desktop users.
Or should I say home users.
To be honest, some users may have some use forthis stuff but home and small business makes up a large part of society here not corperations.
Now if you are an emortal corperation bastard you probably need this sort of shit.
But the rest of us don’t.
I still use a local account with my local perpetual office licence.
I will embrace ai and some of this tech don’t get me wrong but I’m not going to jump to direct use.
Of course I am currently running french cafe jazz via my alexa speaker which is plugged currently into my old 1930s amp so take it as you want.
Its saterday morning, and I am sorting out my packing for monday when I leave for my vacation.
I already need to buy more swimming trunks because mine just are no good so thats my focus.
You guys have fun on the network but I am escaping the network, and the matrix and even reality for 7 days.
As the terminator says, “I’ll be back!”
