I’m usually pretty good at getting podcasts out, but with the recent meetings I’ve been involved in, its time for me to get this podcast out there.

We had a nice discussion about Shrinklocker, and I know that we’re within our 4 hour time thtat I try to keep on this podcast.

If you’ve listened and gotten the show cut off, go over to our email host security TSB directory page where you can pick up all of the episodes.

Hello! Welcome to podcast 196. On this podcast, Michael from Arkansas, formerly Indiana has a things to ponder about his water company. We’re going to cover the news, the landscape and something called Shrink Locker. We’ll have any updates on breaches via Have I been Pwned and exposed, and yes, Snowflake is still in the news and not in a good way.

Michael’s Story

Michael told me a story about how his water company had changed billing systems and how they didn’t even notify anyone, although they did put a notice up on the web site. How good is that when you’re making an important change?

What is Shrink Locker?

Shrink Locker is simple. Its not necessarily ransomware in the same sense, but it does do some shrinking of your computer and it encrypts a lot differently than most. Newly discovered ransomware uses BitLocker to encrypt victim data is the blog post and this is the blog post.

I hope that everyone enjoyed the podcast, and we’ll be back Wednesday with an open forum.
