We’ve seen this a few times through the years, especially the CD issue this article reminds us of.
The problem is that procolored did not take this seriously like the article states. If they did, they would’ve taken the web site offline and done a complete scan of their software.
Telling someone whose software was complaining that its a false positive may not always be the case.
I know I had a false positive with one antivirus engine I used because one day it was working, the next it flagged it as a problem. I worked with the vendor to resolve it.
I’m actually surprised that defender did pick this up, as defender is notorious for not picking things up in my opinion.
As we say, its better to have it than nothing, but when my own test prove defender useless, I wonder.

Nice going, procolored. Now do your job and clean up your files. Its OK to make a mistake, let’s fix it now and hope it doesn’t cause too much of a problem.
