Some Parents Are Suing Their Son’s School Because They Think the Wi-Fi Is Making Him Sick | VICE | United States

How can you sue for something over WIFI? Check this story out. Thoughts are welcome. Wow. I didn’t think that was possible.

They claim the student suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome, a condition that causes symptoms like headaches and nausea from proximity to the Wi-Fi.

    Um wtf man.
Ok lets get things straight here.
There are only a few ways to get sick of something close to wifi.
    1. you need to use your cell for like ages so have it close to your ear all day long.
That actually can maybe make you sick or get cancer, you can get passed that with your hands free kit or even your bluetooth headset.
Sarcasm aside its probably a good idea not to be in direct contact with your cell if you need to use it all day long and get a headset.
I am not sure if living by a transmitter can get you sick though.
    2. your microwave.
Yes you can get sick if you stupidly enough stare into the microwave, and don’t think we havn’t done that when we were little kids, I even did that its not good for you though.
    3. having your screen on bright all the way to the top is really not a good idea for the eyes.
If you need that much light then you need to get better lights, a better reading lamp or a lamp in general or another screen or both.
Oh and stop using crt, gees!
There are adaptors for your tv etc.
I don’t think you can get sick of staying in front of a wifi source.
You may actually get sick if you just happen to sit all day in front of your pc, or game box all the day long from well sitting on your ass and not doing anything more likely.
My brother has rsi and others do from typing to much, seriously you should take breaks.
With all that out the way, I guess you could get sick from a malfunctioning wifi, I havn’t had something do that to me but hay electronics fail.
Hopefully with energy star complient stuff this shouldn’t happen, it was worse 10 or so years ago when well things were less officient then yeah I can understand.
Have you seen your wifi device and or laptop manual, excluding older devices maybe everything should be ok as long as you don’t fiddle with it or mod it.
I don’t think you could get sick from wifi unless you somehow got directly exposed to it.
I have known people to get sore ears and heads from wearing their bluetooth headsets or any set for to long.
In fact if I wear my sets to long and don’t clear them and my ears every so often they get blocked and infected and thats happened 4 times in the last 2 years one of them on christmas.
If I can get sick from wifi then infrared scanners etc can do the same thing, my tv remote can do the same thing.
There is no way you can get sick to properly functioning technology though, the key is functioning.
If you could prove the tech was like not complient or something had things have gone that way from time to time or its broken state causes issues, then well maybe but then shouldn’t it happen with more people?
Even when I worked on older systems I didn’t get sick.
Now I did work in a lab environment with vents and electro magnetic blocking, as well as air conditioning.
Yes, you can get sick in there the purified air alone means you need to drink 2 leters of water an hour to keep up and after you emerge from the dark recesses you do get a headake for like 30 minutes or till you go to the loo and have more drink and lunch that is.
You shouldn’t generally get sick from a computer.
I mean imagine if you could get something like a wifi virus, um.
I am sorry to say this publicly but you america beggers sue for no fucking reason what so ever, I can’t understand why.
