Target Reaches Breach Settlement: $18.5 Million Fine, Security Controls

I knew there would be much more to this target thing we covered way back when. I am hopeful that companies around the world read this article if nothing else. This should be a wakeup call. Luckily, I’ve not had a breach. If I did, I would report to my customers as quickly as possible, and try to fix the problem quickly. I saw this from my Sans newsletter, i’m subscribed to. Glad I’ve seen this. This can be bad.

Target to cough up $18.5 million to 47 states in a settlement following its 2013 security breach, which exposed data of millions of customers.
