Microsoft? warns of devistating cyber attack?

Yes yes, I am writing the article title I’m thinking up for this post because Microsoft isn’t known for warning about much. Seeing we have one of the worst products I’ve ever used in Windows Defender/Microsoft Essentials, I can’t believe they would want to warn about any types of attacks.

According to this article entitled Microsoft Warns Of ‘Devastating’ Cybersecurity Threat To Windows Users: Here’s What You Need To Know it does sound bad, but all attacks can be devistating if you really think about it. Depending on what the actor wants to do, you can get owned or annoyed.

  1. I don’t remember now where it came from, but I thought that was strange. Its well detailed though, so I would at least read it if nothing else.

  2. Hmmm not everyone trusts forbs jared.
I doubt that this is even true.
Microsoft never warns of any attacks, at least nothing that they havn’t patched allready.
I have seen companies for security warn about all sorts of attacks.
I don’t usually fall for it but the next time I come round to service systems I am reformatting and removing a lot of stuff from systems.
The commen thing is, users see problem that may exist, a warning.
And then users do all sorts of things to try to fix it.
I have had a minor thing where a user actually installed malware because they were scared of their icons, and while it was a job to make it go, at least it gave me a chuckle.
My worst thing was a user saying they had a virus or thinking they had it.
They went online and installed over a hundred antivirus and security programs to get rid of it.
I spent 3 days on the system working on it.
Firstly I removed all the security software.
Second I repaired all the windows corruptions.
Then I spent 2 days removing the junk.
I spent a while trying to fix the dammage and eventually had it fixed but it took me 2 days with the system running on power to clean the 800gb of junk files off the hard drive.
If I get a message saying your system has a problem I’m going to just dismiss it immediately as a attempt to get screwed up.
Now some of this stuff may be lagit but if you are updating your system like you are supposed to then you don’t need to be concerned with it.
If microsoft warns of an attack, wouldn’t you think they would have fixed it?
If this article is about the smb issues, its old, 12 hours old now.
    Microsoft has patched it today.
I have the update and so does everyone else.
There are documented notes on twitter.
