While I was taking care of something out in the community for the first time in quite awhile, I opened up my program I use to bring you guys some content worth discussing, and found out that we have a new victim in the Ransomware train. This time, Tim Starks at Cyberscoop wrote an article about a well-known toy maker way back in July. The toy maker detected the attack, shut things down to prevent the spread, and by the looks of it, did everything they could to not have a meltdown. The good news out of all this? The toy maker did not lose anything sensitive in the exfiltration department, so that is definitely a good sign.
For all of the details, please check out Cyberscoop’s article Nothing is sacred: Ransomware attack hit toy maker Mattel’s systems this summer for all the details. Let the journey continue.
