Android is at it again, Billinb Fraud and expensive cell phone bills

Hello folks,

Looks like the Joker malware is at it again! Michael sent this to the security box several days ago, and its going to be big. This is because it takes advantage of a protocal called Wireless avccess protocol or WAP for short. This is to get the phone to the cellular network to get the phone subscribed to services they don’t want.

The problem here is that some of these potential applications are on the Google Play store, a store which is regarded as highly more secure than third party stores.

While Google removes these apps, it only does so after it has been downloaded millions of times.

Billing fraud apps can disable Android Wi-Fi and intercept text messages is the article.

If you use Android, you might want to take a look at this, we don’t want you to get bitten by this and have charges you can’t get removed because your carrier will tell you that you subscribed to said services.

Want to read more about the wireless application protocol? Wireless Application Protocol from Wikipedia may be of value. The Multimedia messaging service used to do pictures uses this protocol and the article talks about and links to the various layers it takes to get there.

Stay safe!

Thanks for reading, make it a great day!
