AWM PROXY and the GLUPTEBA Botnet, lots of similarities

There are two articles we’re going to be talking about as part of this week’s Security box. Both were quite interesting and related in so many ways.

The first article is titled Meet the Administrators of the RSOCKS Proxy Botnet which introduces you to someone who later is to be found running many different things since 2008.

In the second article The Link Between AWM Proxy & the Glupteba Botnet, Brian goes in to detail about some of the biggest players in botnet and other services that have been around for at least a decade or more.

I know that people might not be interested in these things, but our devices can be taken over unless we’re careful and understand where we’re going.

This is, unless you forget to change passwords or other security measures that could get you in trouble.
