What do you mean facebook doesn’t know where our data goes?

I was reading the the current from Komando, and there’s a section dealing with Facebook not knowing where our data goes.

Excuse me? I know where my data goes, and while I’ve not used facebook very much in the last 5 years, I have not exposed my personal information that I don’t want others to have there either.

I did do something stupid many years ago, when it came to sending a DM to someone and I had facebook and twitter connected, but that was a long time ago and I don’t have them connected anymore.

Here’s the segment directly from Komando.com for people to read.

Facebook doesn’t know where your data goes ?

Facebook collects a huge amount of your personal data. In fact, its collection is so huge, the Big Tech giant can’t keep track of it all. Wait, what?

?? This bombshell comes from newly released court documents.

  • Back in March, lawyers grilled Facebook engineers about the company’s data collection.
  • This was part of an ongoing lawsuit related to the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
  • As a refresher, a personality quiz exposed millions of Facebook users’ private data.
  • Find out how the scandal hurt your privacy.

Basically, details from this court case are finally public. Now we know Facebook doesn’t know what happens to all the private user data it collects.

? If you want to check out the court docs yourself, be our guest. But if you don’t have time to comb through 833 pages of legal jargon, here are the big takeaways:

  • Facebook engineers don’t fully understand how their system uses private user data.
  • This is a huge privacy risk for all users.
  • How can you know you’re safe if Facebook doesn’t know where your data goes?

Bottom line: For the sake of your privacy, you should rein in the private data you let Facebook access. You might even want to break up with Facebook altogether.

You can get information if you want by going to komando.com and looking that up. Suffice it to say, besides Tiktok being a problem, Facebook is, and I wouldn’t be surprised if twitter was nextin some investigation.

I just found this whole thing discusting. They built the thing, and they allow people to post whatever they want, so of course they won’t know because people are allowed to share whatever they want with no filtering for the most part.

Just thought I’d pass this on.
