Genealogy site breached, police say its not a big deal

I’m going through email, and I also think I saw something somewhere about a possible breeach at a Genealogy site.

While the breach took place in May, police lifted the order recently and now its coming out. According to komando.com’s article, name, date of birth, email address, hone number, address and possibly more can be out there. How that can be a minimal risk, I don’t know, but this is something to know about.

The site is family search, one of several different sites you can use to get Genealogy results of your family tree.

To read more about this breach, please read komando.com’s article Genealogy site data breach: See if your info was leaked and its recommended to change the password there.

The site is ran by th folks at the Jesus Christ of Laturday Saints, according to the article. The company said they had to keep it quiet pending an investigation, which is fair enough.

The article also states that it was possibly a state sponsored attack, only time will tell. Please read the article for more.
