Do you use Zoom? Better take a look at this article

Hello again folks,

On this edition of the blog posting that I’m doing for today, we must talk about IcedID. It is written as one word, iced and ID is capitalized.

I believe we have talked about this, and if not, we at least blogged about this at some point. Search for IcedID and you should find it. It is not case sensitive.

The article is This copycat Zoom download is hiding malware and may be of importance if you don’t have Zoom on your machine already.

If you don’t remember iced id, it was talked about as a banking trojan. Small businesses have a treasure trove of customer data to farm, according to the article. By installing copycat apps, you could be puting your information at risk.

They recommend to get zoom from zoom.us ,/a> which goes to their web site directly.

Be safe! Be aware! Learn! Stay safe and thanks for listening!

  1. Well if you get a zoom meeting link for a meeting you are not supposed to get or even if you get a meeting link you are supposed to get, instead of downloading from that link, if you don’t then download zoom first then go back to it.
Of course stuff say a job usually notes it up front.
You should always get your software, set it up and get it working before you actually do the work anyway.
Google searches for zoom will bring up zoom.us and you can always read the site the search is going to.
    Sometimes things change.
For the reccord, its zoom.us/download though its easy enough.
Apart from the client, there are plugins, I mean if you are not setting up meetings for business you don’t need controlers, or rooms.
You don’t need either of the plugins unless you want to put those in either.
Searching for zoom download on google will always get you to where you need to go
Generally I don’t click the link to whatever their site is and get zoom, I get zoom first.
I do click the link for the meeting.
Now most companies will have companyname.zoom.us if they pay for premium access.
If you have a zoom.us/junktext then its your friends or well whatever probably ok.
If its a shortener well it depends if you expect it or not.
Of course if you are on lists where there are zoom meetings thats one thing entirely.
If you get random requests then yeah its an issue.
If in doubt and you recieve a meeting link for a lagit meeting, I would reccomend you use your google account or a google account for signin to zoom then click that meeting and its automatically active on your zoom schedual and you don’t have to do anything as well as google itself.
I must admit I often do that.
It means if I know thing x will happen I logon and it will yell at me that something is up.
I logon once a day to check updates so I know.
Though I did have an experience where I knew I had a job but got no link.
When I asked what happened I was told I didn’t appear.
I said, no link so I didn’t appear.
So yeah that was that thing.
