The three points are:
- Verify your match’s identity
- Check their criminal records and
- Talk before you meet
I know people have come to me through twitter and messenger wanting to date, and I said I wouldn’t do text dating. They refused to call, one of whom made excuses on how it wasn’t their phone, they’d go do as I told them, etc. but never got the call.
One thing they didn’t say is that they’ll pull you off of the site you’re on and wanting to chat through some other means. That is definitely a red flag.
Read the article and be careful. The Internet isn’t what it was once used to be.

I know that I’ve been approached, but most of these people don’t want to call me, just take it off of one platform to another. Maybe I’m too old too, but I never bothered to change whether I’m taken or not because I don’t give out a lot about me anyway. Even if I were taken, they’d still do the things they do.
People have found the person they want online, and it may work, but it definitely isn’t for everyone.
I know I have an older view but online anything has a risk.
Marrying the digital and physical world is tenuous at best, dangerous at worst.
If it works and you check then fine but do you really check your physical dates chriminal hhistory.
I mean what would you do after you go and talk to your date after a whhile, you find out things are ok then find out things are not.
I think if I was asked to be police vetted to date I’d run a mile.
I think online dating may have a purpose but you need to be carefull as all heck is all.
Personally it doesn’t interest me.
You know how much of a wild west online still is.
Dating apps and sites have all my alerts going off right now is all.
Maybe I’m to old for this shit maybe thats just me.
