Acer breached, hacker selling data on hacker forums

Hello folks,

Apparently, this is not the first time Acer has been breached, according to the article Acer Breached, Hacker Selling Access to 160GB of Stolen Data which was quite interesting.

I know this isn’t good to post the image as is, but that’s the description we get in the alt text. With that said, we don’t need the full details from the post as its described in the article.

Lots of data including source code and presentations. It includes information on the bios, a portion of the computer that tells it to boot among other things.

The actor indicates that it’ll take days to go through all of the data, but apparently he wants to sell it as he goes through it.

This is huge, as the article talks about Acer having another breach in 2021. The JRN doesn’t rmemember reading anything about that breach, but it is only going to get more interesting as more information becomes available.
