Hello folks,
Yesterday was a very interesting day. It was cloudy, a chance of tired, and a meeting I attended outside of the office. But maybe that fit the folks behind the emotet botnet as now its back with a chance of dangerous activity, according to the article read about the updates.

The article is titled Botnet that knows your name and quotes your email is back with new tricks which fits this thing.
Now, it tends to reply to particular email and attaches a word document. But this isn’t just any word document. This is a document that can inflate itself and pad itself with eronious data. Files that are over the 500mb mark, according to the article, can’t be scanned that well with antivirus software. This is otherwise known as file pumping or padding the file.
I believe it was last year that Microsoft finally decided to make running macros by default a thing of the past, and disabled it. But people will enable the button if they’re told something that they believe to be true. This is why its important to think about what is going on. Now that it replies to legitimate email, this is going to be very dangerous now.
I think that people should read the entire article, its worth the read because we all need to be aware of this. Its delivered small, then blows up. Gotta figure out how to pass this on to MENVI’s subscribers, although we don’t send attachments very much..
Please stay safe folks. More later.
