Hello folks,
Scams are definitely on the rise, and this time, komando.com is talking about one that targets you, the Google user.
First, if you’ve received a text message from Google, especially if you set up two factor authentication, know how that message came in. It probably used some sort of short code that you’ll recognize. Question, did the message you received asking you to confirm your account come from that shortcode or something else?
At one point, Google did call you, and called you from a California area code and identified itself as such when you answered. After doing so, it gave you your code. It doesn’t seem to be doing so anymore, and its been awhile since I got a call even though that is how I have my authentication set up.
The rest of the article is sound and has great advice. Remember that these articles are written for the average consumer, and we may have people who find these of interest.
The article this time is titledDon’t fall for this Google scam about a compromised account and I hope people get a chance to peruse this.
Remember to go to your account page and then select security to make sure your account is in tip top shape.
Thanks so much for reading!
