Uber is allowing us to track our orders with our voice

Hello everyone, welcome to another day here on the blog. This article is something different, something that could benefit us all.

How many times have we been wondering where our food is when we’re hungry? According to the Verge, now we can ask where our food is, or have it integrated directly in to Amazon’s Alexa.

They claim its in the app, and its is available as of the 4th of may.

I know that smart speakers may pose some security concerns for some, but if you give it the right permissions, than you can in theory be OK.

I would suggest reading the article directly from the Verge titled Alexa can now track Uber Eats orders in the US/ for details.

I’d be interested to see if there is the button they claim on the order screen after checkout. I’ve never seen settings for voice tracking anywhere in the app and account settings as it states, but if it is rolled out as of yesterday, this could mean that we need to update their application first.

This might help someone like me, someone who is in an appartment complex where knowing that they’re close is expecting a call at the door to buzz them in.

I guess we’ll see how this will work, but maybe not today.

More later.
