Plugwalk joe convicted, pleads guilty, extradited

Brian Krebs and the tech blog and podcast as well as TSB possibly have talked about Plugwalk Joe, otherwise known as Joseph O’Connor.

Maybe we blogged and talked about it more on the tech podcast more than TSB as TSB came mid 2020.

Bret Callo covered this on Mastodon but leads to the Justice Department. Here’s the boost.

BrianKrebs: Boosting Brett Callow (brett): A U.K. citizen pleaded guilty today in New York to his role in cyberstalking and multiple schemes that involve computer hacking, including the July 2020 hack of Twitter. Joseph James O’Connor, aka PlugwalkJoe, 23, was extradited from Spain on April 26.

U.K. Citizen Extradited and Pleads Guilty to Cyber Crime Offenses is the press release from the justice department that was boosted.

Here is the search for Plugwalk Joe from the blog and the first post from that section before this posts is to podcast 55, so it does look like we covered him here on TSB.

Here is the Krebs on Security search for Plugwalk Joe that leads to various articles.

I really like the justice department’s write up of this, and may it be known that the FBI will find you if they really want to.

Have a great day!
