Face Recognition gets it wrong again … pregnant woman arrested, released, sues city

The City of Detroit, Michigan has not had good luck when it comes to facial recognition and identifying people. For the 6th time, it has arrested someone for a crime they didn’t commit. The woman, who was mug shot in 2015 for a similar offense, had nothing to do with it and the person who was shown pictures identified them from a 2015 picture.

  1. And for all the ai and the cloud databases things still get screwed.
    Then again you have dna matches and other things where bad guy and good guy look so close that the system can’t tell them apart.
    Its happened before and it will happen again.
    And cutting it down the middle data connections are not 100% stable, the wrong dropout at the wrong time and that byte is missing.
