Yahoo News is reporting that a huge Russian database covering 664 million people is now in hackers hands. Risky Business also has a podcast on this.
BrianKrebs: Ukrainian hackers claim to have to have stolen passenger information on 664 million flights going back 16 years from a Russian travel booking system. The hackers aren’t leaking the whole thing yet, and say they’ll share access with verified journalists (I’ve asked and am still waiting).

So far, coverage of this claim is almost nil, except for this story over at Yahoo News, which is actually sourced from Ukrainska Pravda. h/t to the Risky Business show this week, which also pointed to the Yahoo story.

But if it turns out to be legit, this could be a very significant boon to investigations into cybercrime networks, money laundering, and even espionage and influence operations.

I believe Shaun told me about this podcast which I had once subscribed to, this one is something I’m going to have to get back in to.
With so many security podcasts, its hard to keep up with them all. I’m so far behind on Security Now, my favorite podcast, that I’ve sort of dropped off of listening to it.
Each podcast like this one talk about things differently, and I am not sure that all podcasts cover every single thing.
Back to the article, the data taken represents 2007-current, and may not have anything on any of us. Its something to be aware of though.
