Utah sues TikTok

“This Week in Tech” podcast from Cyber Crime Radio is reporting that Utah is the next state to sue TikTok over use of the app.

It mentions that the lawsuit is about keeping young children on the app for long periods of time.

Does this sound familiar? It should. I believe we covered another lawsuit about TikTok and children.

In fact, This blog post talks about Indiana suing TikTok. It links to an article where TikTok apparently violates Coppa among other possible laws, and that’s why they’re suing. The JRN has heard no more.

Now, with Utah suing because of TikTok’s activities to keep children on the app, that makes two states we know that are going after them.

Of Course, we know that the president has tried to ban TikTok outright in the United States and that started with Former President Trump.

While this isn’t a political blog, I will say, that Trump had our best interest in mind when talking about banning the popular app.

I hope that Congress can figure it out, and if they can, our current president can sign something. After that, other countries may do the same thing. Only time will tell about that.

I have no article at this time about the Utah lawsuit, but they did say on the program it came from Roiters.

All I’ll say, is that I want to see what happens and I hope we get updates on it.

Thanks for reading, make it a great day!
