There is a new version of RustBucket, a malware varient that has been around the Mac scene for awhile, according to this 9 to 5 Mac article we’re taking from.
This piece of malware was first reported in April, but a research group called Jamf Threat Labs says that the group behind this is now evolving the malware as it continues to attack.
This comes from an advanced persistant threat group, apparently out of North Korea, says the article. The new stage announced is titled BlueNoroff.
To learn more about this, please read the full 9to5mac article which is titled Beware of BlueNoroff: Mac users targeted with new malware variant which was sent through Mastodon by our very own Herbie Allen.
Thanks buddy for posting, even though I’m still behind, this is something I think needs posting.
