In the “Are We Surprised” department, I shouldn’t be surprised about the fact that Schneider Electric is being targeted. While they have not yet paid any ransom, this new group supposedly put up about 25mb of that data for proof purposes of course and to get the company to pay up.

The company did not say whether they’ll pay a ransom, and even if they do, it isn’t going to look good as some of these groups have done multiple ransom demands in the past. I’m not going to even say what this group will do because we don’t know, but anhything can happen.

1.5TB of data is nothing, compared to the amount of data that we’ve seen through have I been Poned including that 70 million from a big data dump that just seemed wrong.
This electric company also fell victim to the Klop gang and the moveit breach as well as of late, so they’ve had a bit of bad luck.
Its been awhile since we have mentioned anything from there, so maybe its time to take a look around.
We’ll have more on the podcast from them.
The article from Bleeping Computer is titled Cactus ransomware claim to steal 1.5TB of Schneider Electric data if you want to take a look around at it.
Have a great day!
