A wide open database found, closed, contained information on two factor codes

This story was talked about on Cyber Crime Radio. A leaky database spilled 2FA codes for the world’s tech giants is the article.

This is not the first time for a database to be found open, but this was concerning as the good faith researcher didn’t even know who to report it to.

Companies who had representatives for the press did not comment, only one from the main company claiming that the database was now closed.

This database contained information on at least 5 million SMS messages being sent out that contained OTP codes or reset password links. The database went back to 2023 in July.

Lots of linked content here, so feel free to give the article a complete read.
