McDonalds suffers outage, says it wasn’t a cyber attack

On the top of Bleeping Computer this morning is an article talking about McDonalds suffering some sort of major global outage. The U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan are some of the locations that have experienced issues overnight.

McDonalds did not tell Bleeping Computer what it meant when it said that “it wasn’t caused by a cyber attack” but we should assume although it was mentioned that they blamed a third party change.

I don’t want to assume anything at this point, but the assumption could be an unknown attack that we may not know about.

Configuration change are in quotes. I hope they tell their managers about what went wrong and how it will be corrected in the future.
