The Cyberwire has this in today’s file which I am going to try and listen to.
While I hear those who have vented on Twitter and other medium, I do not blame you at ll for venting your frustrations and saying you’ll go elsewhere.
While I needed lastpass today, I found that I needed to log in and did that through my firefox just fine. But I did also hear the notice that there was an outage and was curious what happened.
Remember, this can happen to any of our favorite or not so favorite services.
We’re sure that Lastpass intends for things to work smoothly, and they did work to fix things. If the outage lasted days, than I could see jumping ship.
Remember though that Lastpass has been under scrutiny lately with their huge breach that was caused by a barrage of attempts to one account the person finally said yes.
While they have one of the best security models out there, there can always be something that can be happening that we don’t know about.
I’m sure that their intent was never to have their extension to “DDOS” their servers, and I’m sure they’ll probably come out with a post mortem when they’re ready.
LastPass says 12-hour outage caused by bad Chrome extension update is the article here.
Let’s try and take a breath and realize what might be going on before we just jump ship from one company to another, especially when it comes to password managers.
If they post something to their blog, I’ll be sure to post it to the blog once its found.
We’ll be in touch with more in due time. With the news here and the previous article, we want the blog to slow down just a bit.
I’ll continue to blog more in the near future as well as working on this next weeks podcast.
Thanks so much for listening and reading with us!
