Kaspersky has been a household name in the AntiVirus industry as long as Trend Micro, Norton, Symantech and others that have come and gone through the years.
While I’ve never known Kaspersky to be a big threat, I think this is a huge mistake. Banning an antivirus company because of a perceived threat doesn’tt quite sit well with me.
I would be asking for the proof of the fact they help Russia with any type of Cyber attack.
It would not be in their interest, and as the article we’ll link to states, they’ll fight this.
The good news is that those using the product will not face legal action, but if you use the products after September 29, 2024: you will be on your own with cybersecurity. It also seems to me that banning the company from pushing updates to subscribers that have paid for the right to use the product is the wrong way to go. I really don’t think that the Whitehouse is in a position to ban an Antivirus product, most of the people in politics are not qualified to make these decisions.
This is bad. Very bad. Not impressed.
It’s Official: US Bans Kaspersky Antivirus Software Over Russian Ties is the article if you wish to read it on your own time. Very, bad, move I say!
To be honest anything russian no matter what it is is a threat now.
As the war continues, everything is suspected.
Thats the issue with war.
One doesn’t have to be in the firing line to feel it.
Everything will be looked at.
Only the space station is left alone but we are ramping up to world war 3.
That may happen at any time now so everyone is watching their ass.
The only reason china and tthe west hasn’t gone the same way is that we need them and vice versa.
Neither side want to push to hard.
Everything must be suspected till proven.
Is it right?
No but war is often not right.
A lot of indirect shots will hit, so this is the case of the side effect of this thing.
And it continues ramping up.
