IOS 18.1 for iphones and ipads is now available as well as watch OS 11.1

Hello gang,

In the post we’re linking to from AppleVis, they talk about the new feature called Apple Intelligence, which its summary sections are not accessible with Voiceover.

They also talk about some bugs that have been fixed which include contracted braille issues, replying in message and using a perkins style keyboard, Voiceover focus and the weather app and others.

There is also reported issues some on the team have had that deals with moving apps in to folders using the rotor option to do it.

The Apple Intelligence feature seems quite interesting to me, and its unfortunate that this feature came out of the box inaccessible.

As I learned with personal voice, I don’t think my 11 will get intelligence, and I understand that Siri is improved by this regard but I could be wrong.

Please read the AppleVis blog post Apple Releases iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1; Bringing New Bugs and Some Fixes for VoiceOver and Braille Users for more. It also includes the release notes available from other sources.

As far as watch OS, Apple Releases watchOS 11.1; Bringing Changes to System Volume and the Behavior of the VoiceOver Volume Rotor is the post you’ll need to read.

They go in to detail on what they’ve found, notating that testing this was limited due to the fact you can’t go backwards on the watch.

I don’t have a watch, so I can’t comment further.

I hope these posts are of value, and thanks for reading! We appreciate it.
