Some food for thought

I just came across the following on Mastodon. It says:

J Wolfgang Goerlich: Boosting Em :official_verified: (Em0nM4stodon): Friends, I know fighting for privacy rights can be exhausting at time.

But it is truly a group effort,
and all your small gestures matter ?

Each time you opt-out or oppose an abusive collection of personal data,
it matters.

Each time you choose a privacy-respectful software instead of a privacy-invasive one,
it matters.

Each time you help a friend or a stranger understand better how to protect their own data online,
it matters.

Each time you sign a petition or write to an official representative to tell them privacy rights are important to you,
it matters.

Each time you support a privacy advocacy organization or privacy-focused software,
it matters.

We need all this to push our culture in the right direction and to preserve and improve our collective privacy rights.

Please do not give up.
We need you to fight with us ??

Preston Gaylor, one of TSB’s contributers has something similar to me in the past when it comes to TSB and what we’re trying to do.

This makes lots of sense, and that’s why TSB has been free for everyone to download.

If you decide to make a donation that’s fine. But the joy of bringing knowledge to a community who may not understand some or all of it is why I’ve pushed forward.

While the technology podcast has died, the name will stay for other purposes and TSB must continue. I never indicated I was closing anything down, but this thhought I just spotted really made me remember Preston’s words even more after he closes each program.

Preston, thank you so much for keeping me in line, as in 2017 I quit podcasting for awhile, releasing tech podcasts off and on from 2018-2020 and finally wanting to rebrand to TSB which has had some success.

We’ll be back on January 8, 2025 and I can’t wait to hear what stories and questions and other things people have to ask and or share.

More blogging between now and then will be coming, so I’m not going anywhere.
