Use uBlock Origin? You need to update if you’re using chrome

Chrome is depricating manifest version 2 and bringing version 3 forward. While version 2 is not completely dead yet, uBlock may be affected and the developer has put out a version that will work with manifest version 3.

If the version they put out is too restrictive, you can always go to another browser like Firefox where we believe there is no change to uBlock and other privacy tools that people should be allowed to use.

I believe Chrome is doing this because Google runs the product and it hurts them. There is no reason to block something like this program who has had a great reputation.

To read more about this, please read the Bleeping Computer article Google Chrome disables uBlock Origin for some in Manifest v3 rollout as it has all of the details on this and when things should be complete for their rollout and for people who need more time.

  1. I just noticed this.
I use ublock origin lite on chrome only.
Thank god no one else does this sillyness yet.
Edge may eventually but its always behind.
The only thing I had to do is add amd website to the no filter list else nothing works.
You may have to add other things to that list but the system is accessible enough.
