So … TikTok by ByteDance not following competitive bids … more

I’m going to try and cover two different items today when it comes to TikTok and both are on Cyberscoop.

TikTok Global sues TikTok Inc., ByteDance, and CEO for $58 billion

The short version of this is that TikTok Inc. a U.S. competitive company and owner of the U.S. portion of TikTok is claiming that ByteDance turned down the U.S. offers of $33b and $58b and allowed Oracle to take over the company if they wish in what I’d probably call a closed door session as ByteDance will still have control with Oracle only owning the infrastructure from what I understand.

The day of sale is tomorrow, and if that doesn’t happen, the ban should go in to effect.

This is going to get very interesting.

Will TikTok Shop be the big winner as tariff protests grow

This one talks about something called the TikTok Shop. I don’t ever see myself or any of my group using such a tool, but then again, I’m not a heavy scroller.

I’ve never been on the platform, I don’t recommend the platform and I really wish them good luck.

It talks about different places that already signed up for the service and that TikTok will move away from shipping stuff from China in exchange for trust according to the article. Let’s see how this works.

Comment on these if you wish.
