Zoom conferencing has a remote control?

This as well as several other recent items I’ve been blogging are in the top of the news for today’s newsletter. That’s quite interesting!

Why would Zoom Conference have a remote control function? I know it has screen sharing which makes sense as I’ve been in webinars where this is done, but remote control?

If you’ve read this one, let me know your thoughts.

The article does say that a hacking group named Elusive Comet is responsible for this, and I’d say that you should disable remote control in Zoom. I don’t personally see a need for it. If you need it, that’s fine, but only enable it for those you trust.

It doesn’t even say how remote control works, although I haven’t read the newsletter so I’m curious on whether the editors have any insite.

Due to this week’s events, there may be a delay in podcasting, and our schedule, so we’ll see how things go.
