More issues with windows 11

While these issues discussed in this article may not affect home users, business users may want to pay attention to this.

I can already smell a rant from my admin so I’ll let him speak on this if he wishes.

With the ongoing issues with 11, i think i’m staying where I am unless this machine quits working.

Microsoft: Windows 11 24H2 updates fail with 0x80240069 errors is the article.

Let the 11 haters love this one. i’m just passing on the news.

  1. Hi jared.
Once again another load of why you shouldn’t bother with cryptolocker and this is on 10 to.
    https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-confirms-may-windows-10-updates-trigger-bitlocker-recovery/

Message to microsoft, maybe you need to realise how god damned fucking shity your no good fat muther fucking bastard of a fucking demon of incryption is!
I know none of them read this, but get it through your thick skulls.
we! the! users! do!not! want! your! fat! muther! fucking! disk! incryptionbecause its buggy as all well you name it!
And what if you use it.
    I don’t, our systems don’t.
the update loaded and things worked.
And just on the cusp of my conversion to windows 11 I get this.
    https://www.windowslatest.com/2025/05/18/windows-11-kb5058411-install-fails-file-explorer-issues-may-2025-update/
So basically after the latest update explorer doesn’t work right.
Responce, wait till the end of the month, manually update should fix it or reinstall with the latest disk image.
Reinstall in place and then reset just about everything.
    I repeat!
This is a user and business os.
It is not a god damned muther fucking beta.
Or in other words why with their insider team, list of enginiers, etc is microsoft having so much trouble when stuff goes live?
These bugs should have been picked up during testing.
We as users shouldn’t see any of this or if we do then it should be small enough its not plastered over the news.
I once had an error and called support.
It pritty boiled down to, just reinstall and it will be fine.
    This is contridiction in itself.
A reformat is the last resort yet ms phone support has it as one of the first.
So if a problem comes along I’ll just reformat and save the hour + ringing support
Really, I have a cold and was thinking while parents were away for 2 days of personal downtime I’d update the main box with the latest windows 11 install.
    Windows 10 works.
Really guys get it together please!
We don’t need this in our faces.
We have either a chance of being hacked or a certain chance of microsoft screwing our systems on update!
With the track reccord I have seen, I’ll take my chance with hackers and load windows 10 on all my systems even newer ones.
I can’t trust the buggy nature of 11 right now.
Its bluster because I will jump because why not but still I am not impressed as a user even though I guess I should be ready for the next crash.
Again, remember you big oaf that every customer round you be it a business or a user from a child to the damned have lives and we really would like to update and get on with them rather than worrying what the next bug is.
Fix your shit and only release it when its ready.
    Rant over.

  2. Hi.
Well wsus was on the way out.
My suggestion to ms is if they are using a new system they should go just use it or not.
If you guys are serious in gettring of wsus for whatever then fine but its a problem if you have to maintain both services at once.
I don’t care what service I use but if you need to get things to work for whatever reason then I like to use the other one.
On the other side, the nice thing with wsus is its so configurable but then I have seen ms games, apps and control settings and stuff work as well as suck so maybe effective communication is the answer.
They do have the resources officient use is questionable as well as effectiveness.
For business admins the easiest fix is to download the files from the catalog manually but its a bit of effort.
Then again there was a time I did this in the past I would do this for networked systems then either run them on that box or do a batch run job on that box a user clicked.
I am sure there is ways to automate this but well there are many draw backs to this and a major one is manual labour and then space on cloud, and well going to each box but oh well there you go.
Wsus and ms haven’t been smooth sailing.
They killed home server os which I really think was a mistake.
The cost of ms windows server is just to expensive for a home user as it is.
Look I won’t say much more but get it right please.
    Don’t go back and forth.
The users will enjoy your stuff and you will enjoy us we just want it to work.
Sadly I will be disabling on all the systems all the ai features from autopilot to recall simply because there are to many what iffs, tracking and the like.
While I won’t kill off all the extra tracking from ms necesarily as I do feel some of that should help the company and doesn’t impact the user exactly I question submitting everything to the system to recall back later.
Ok its nice but I don’t want to recall everything and I certainly don’t to recall anything of a secure nature.
Ok saying that a timeline of events especially if I can attach my google calendar to the thing would be nice.
I often forget if a task is done especially if I am busy.
And if I can have something that I can configure sounds for then that would rock.
Yeah my smart speaker and phone do this and the phone better than windows does but a good admin wants just about everything they can get.
As I said in the other post,
Us users understand that errors and utter fuckups happen.
Hell if they didn’t then testers and all those sorts of jobs wouldn’t exist at all.
The issue is if they happen more than once or twice.
Certainly 3 times you start to wander especially if its fuck up, fix it then repeat over and over.
I was into upgrade to win11 but even on the 10th gen that well could I am unsure what I will do.
At this stage my initial responce is to wait for 25h2 but I know how to make ai completely go away and I think I will just do that.
I make most of windows dumb because I can’t trust the os exactly.
Windows 10 at least I have managed to get that it just works.
Sure there are bits I don’t care for but they won’t hinder me.
On the other side, I don’t need to do to much shell work so its not a big deal.
On the systems I work with I rarely have to interact with the shell at all its just programs and their updates.
One thing I will say is that a lot of stuff is going web view which is good since even inaccessible apps are going that way now which gives them reasonable access.
Another thing is that a lot of apps are going store as well as direct.
If you can handle store, it means the apps will update from one hub and that saves time.
Wsus has had issues, lets hope ms can fix the issue quickly.
At least they acknowledge this one as they often don’t even bother.
As for upgrades, I am now unlikely to do so.
Win10 is stable, windows 11 aint so much.
But then I am sure ms will get it right, and lets hope soon.
Then again with all the trump issues with trade, if I were ms I’d keep win10 running for the next 4 years at least.
If prices go up, no one will buy.
Everything is going to crash soon and well who knows.
I think we can all agree that as long as the bugs aint that bad and the system boots then thats fine.
