I saw this through email on the Kim Komando newsletter. From time to time, she shares big news like this.
The article is titled 184 million accounts just leaked, yours could be next and I would urge every single person within my reading power to read it.
The data could come from the likes of Apple, Google, your PC maker and much more.
Info that may be pilfered include usernames, passwords and device info and possibly more.
Does anyone know what the hidden risk that people may still use today that is available to you? The answer is the way people save passwords. People today still use their browser to save their passwords. This means that an actor could get access to your computer, and then log in to all of your accounts because your passwords are all there.
Also, this makes your vulnerable to credential stuffing, whereby the actor could take the password to your apple account, log in to something else, and do damage like drain your bank account or take over a service.
