an interesting opinion on forbs

Hi all.
Well with the windows 11 update looming and the free to low cost one to keep 10 running it appears that users have found windows 11 will load on older systems.
A way tto reduce the junk is to run a debloater script and a couple other things to clear all the stuff no one wants.
Here’s the thing.
Right now I don’t want some of those in built programs but lets face it, while there are trials and the like and yes while I don’t use ai right now, I do use the store in fact I enjoy it.
I also use some of the apps in the system.
Users don’t like the fact ms telemitory and such all the info it gets and privacy info.
Fine I guess, I mean get rid of all the monitoring but some of that can be usefull for support and to be honest I am unsure if thats a major issue.
Pluss sure, kill that feature but what if you want to use it?
Its fine right now but the forbs article is I feel a bit short sighted.
I mean I support modifying a policy or reg key with winaero, hell if the start menu doesn’t work using an open shell or something to get me a better experience for myself but I wouldn’t blanketly remove stuff I don’t want only to realise later on I want to use that feature and have to reformat and reinstall to use it.
I would get pro and disable recall as I think its to intrusive.
However I wouldn’t outright remove autopilot as its eventually going to become usefull.
Pluss with ai being used in real life more and more its only a matter of time.
Then again if you are happy with your 5 year old box fine but the article does state you should probably if you can afford it replace every 10 years if you are a home user.
I have no need to replace my box but if you can afford it you may want the extra power.
It appears though that microsoft is stretching the truth on some older systems.
True you probably don’t need secure boot or tpm but with the new non bios systems uefi on a lot of stuff I do think it sould be beneficial to at least use some of the systems.
On another note chrome appears to be blocked by ms if you have and use safety.
This means no chrome but then duck duck go has a brouser.
And while I don’t use it extensively edge is coming into its own as a chrome alternitive on the chromium platform and dare I say it I’d actually use it as an alternitive.
Firefox is still my push.
Some chrome users including my dad appear to have bits of chrome in maori, I thought it was for festivals here but chrome or google itself is either advertising with its ai or its just trying to be local.
No one knows and to be frank the corperations do get a lot of flack from us users so maybe this is them giving a fuck so you can’t shoot the messenger at least they are trying.
Edge should update today, there is a minor release for both the codecguide packs and firefox 140x.
On the site please note I have put in a standard wordpress theme because the health system keeps wanting a default fallback so I have done this.
Aparently you can’t set a default anymore it has to be a default wordpress theme which I guess makes sence.
The 2021 theme is the wordpress theme.
I have also flushed the cache which appears from time to time to be timing out on the server but who knows.
There were a couple errors but I think most are fixed bar 1 authorisation header which is non critical and I have no idea what to do about it.
Unsure what will happen today with the family.
Had a nice 43rd birthday yesterday which I will write in the personal blog in fact I think I did write yesterday about it.
Today is the standard family day but its raining, windy and generally bad.
I have had the usual shit, shower and shave and am fueled up to get into it.
What to do is the question.
Its windy as all heck which does mean I have to rethink my position.
At this stage half of me may just stay back here but who knows.
I need to get into a multisound environment.
At least I am not down south.
You guys in nelson who are reading this, stay safe and hope that bank doesn’t come down.
