Hawaiian Airlines has an unknown cyber attack

I saw mention of this on the Cyberwire, although I have not yet heard the particular program. After some tech issues, I decided to go investigate this and read the original article a second time.

According to the article, the Alaska Group, who owns Alaska Airlines indicate that they have no threat that they’re aware of but investigators were called.

This article was posted on June 27th.

Hawaiian Airlines discloses cyberattack, flights not affected is the article for this story.

What is interesting is that there was no comment from any spokespeople at Hawaian and also that nobody took responsibility for the attack.

But what is more interesting is that I found an article titled Scattered Spider hackers shift focus to aviation, transportation firms which was written on the same day.
Since I didn’t read the article till I linked it here, reading it indicates how Scattered Spider is responsible for the attack at at least one airline whose mentioned, but it is unclear about Hawaian or other airlines mentioned.

That article also covers who scattered spider is and reminds people about being careful.
This is quite crazy, and I bet this will give out some comments. Have fun.
