Hello gang,
Names, addresses, DOB, drivers license info, phone and email have been pilfered for over 27 thousand people. This time, the company’s name is named Bitcoin Depot.
I would love to go off on this, but the problem is that these types of places need this info as part of KYC or Know Your Customer requirements.
Maybe our Crypto expert Nick can talk a little more about this publicly by signing up and leaving a comment.
Bitcoin Depot breach exposes data of nearly 27,000 crypto users is the article from Bleeping and I saw it today. The article is 3 days old, so it is still quite fresh.

I am unsure about this.
On one hand crypto is making the market and is trackable.
On the other end criminals are using it.
Its gotten so bad that australia and now here are banning atm units supporting crypto.
For those like my brother as crypto is trackable to a point and everything is logged the argument is that if you want to be bad then the platform may not be for you.
On the other end who knows.
I don’t have an opinion either way but with the way things are going advantagious as it may be I’d actually stick with hard cash supported by a government.
Its not online, and the government iis happy with us using it.
We had cash after the last 2 wars.
Its likely if we survive the next one that cash or some currency will return eventually.
Its my concern and fear that with us going with ai and the net, storage, etc is this.
When the bomb drops and I am pritty sure in the next decade or sooner it will happen even if we survive which I suspect quite a few of us may afterwards, point is the net will be fucked!
Our online data will be destroyed.
Our incrypted data, currencies will be absolutely fucking useless.
I still back up my data on ssds and older now hdds.
Its not completely secure but if the bomb drops I know at least 1 drive will survive.
I don’t leave my drives connected so unless we have a magnetic switchback on our fields the data has a chance to be safe.
I have a backup drive with granted not the latest data but most of the unchanging data stored in a cupboard in another remote family location.
If the world ends and when the bombb drops even if I die I know at least some of my files will live on.
They are not encrypted, they are just placed for all to see.
Like it or not as it were I still think we should be backing our stuff even if not everything but as much as we can and storing it.
We aren’t not far from world war 3 and I am convinced in my lifetime, in fact in the next 1 to 5 years it will happen.
When it does even if we survive, online systems, servers, and data will be toast.
We will not have ai, the net, cloud, storage of anything, email, web, or anything.
For those putting their eggs in one basket they will have nothing at all.
Everything will diie.
Maybe those born before the 2000s will survive.
After all we know how to live outside the matrix but for the rest especially those addicted to social networks and cells will be unable to function and will suicide rather than trying to adapt.
Worse will be those born into the digital space now.
What I am saying is much as it is against progress and such we need physical stuff.
Cash, data, etc.
Digital will return but there will be a period where we will have fuck all!!!!
Then again I am a pre collective guy born in 1982 before the net existed.
Its likely for the newer ones or those born in the 90s they have forgotten.
I am undecided in incrypted currency.
My brother supports it but I never got into it like I never really embraced social networks or ai.
Maybe I may get into it.
I am not apposed per say I just haven’t found any reason to get active.
