We now have our first file fix attack

In late June, we blogged about research that was done about a new method of infection called File Fix.

This attack uses the same ploy with the captcha, and then gets you to run a file or command within file explorer.

Well, as I wrote, it probably won’t be long, and today, it seems like we’re learning that Interlock is now using this attack to drop their Rat.

As discussed, this is a social engineering attack that was was developed by a researcher. Click Fix has been around awhile, and at one point was one of the most widely employed payload methods throughout the past year.
