Hi all.
Well its the second week of the school holidays and tech updates are slow.
Bar minor codecguide, and firefox updates little is here to report.
Firefox is at 143.03, thunderbird unknown but with us 2 betas away from another release of 144 on mozilla I am uncertain what that matters at this point.
Windows 11 users has the official v25 release and another update preceeding that for 24 with probably the final dumps.
There are a few ai features and stuff though interestingly the hype is small.
Intel driver 132 is out but only if you have a 11th gen cpu.
For all those holdouts on 10th you are out of luck.
Be aware, for some of you holdouts on win10 some companies are ditching the platform for 11 so watch your six as they say.
For those holding out on 10, even if next year we lose os updates that may not be the issue.
As long as chromium stuff keeps updating and office, then thats fine.
The big issue will happen once os,+ office and chrome stop updating.
Of course if you have addons and they keep active who knows.
Having used the v25 series on windows 11 for the last week, there isn’t any reason not to shove it on.
There is no reason to hold back.
There isn’t anything much to see for us blind users here at all unless you run everything via voice and I still don’t do this.
Things I’d like is the ability to login to windows with google account like just about everyone else does.
Ms still want to have their own account but its their own fault removing most of the features that made it usefull to users some time back.
And the music stuff was mine.
As long as you use something to check updates on 10 you won’t lose esu support and what if you do do so every 2 months, just reset and rerun, its laughable to be honest.
Interestingly as we approach the end of the year, online stuff seems to be winding down.
My emails cutting out news, promos, stuff I get myself and a bunch of stuff have dropped even on those lists I am on to round 20-50 a day instead of over 100 messages of back and forth conversation.
Now if only the weather played ball so I could get outside.
Now for a small offtopic notice for our southern hemisphere users but maybe the rest of us to.
For those entering summer, an alert has been on the news to check your sunscreen and such.
There has been a lot of recalls at least locally where the protection factor, yes, thats what spf is, is not at the required level.
For refference thats round 50 or so.
Its mostly not a problem but we have had a bit of a recall situation going on the last week.
Its not a big issue just yet but its october, a month that while not totally hot is probably when you will be supplying yourself with stuff.
So watch it.
The worst thing you can be doing is sitting on the beach with a drink away from the pc, then you find your sunscreen you payed for is defective at the wrong time and the results will not be pritty.
I have been burned a couple times because I was full hardy.
One thing you can do is buy incorperated moisturisers and screens together which is what I do for my face as its exposed all year.
Also having had a friend that has and will have cancer on the skin it is something to be carefull of.
Again stay safe.
