Hi all.
No real news today due to christmas however a user has found that system optimisation services are eating power.
And also that there is a hack to get supposedly faster nvme support by hacking the registry though its not official.
Just a friendly warning to all that this stuff is not something I would personally support in particularly since the second hack is reported not to make any noticable changes.
I would not disable any service because it may be used for something else.
If you want to set things to manual fine but as I said any system service is there for a reason.
I would also say the registry.
Its easilly dammaged, and if it gets dammaged and if you are unable to boot the system, you won’t be able to restore the system.
If you are blind, if you can’t reboot then thats the end for me.
I have had systems with issues with sound and various things which wouldn’t work.
In a lot of cases the user had certain devices plugged in but no sound =no boot.
Solution if the system doesn’t boot is to get it booting.
That means a full reformat.
Don’t fuck with your system unless you want to and take a backup.
If you can hack it doesn’t mean you should.
If a feature is there you can hack I still wouldn’t.
It may appear later, and the fact its off may mean something is wrong with it.
In this case this feature maybe in the next big update next year.
A reminder to stay safe this christmas.
Well as a small edit to this it appears the driver is confirmed by microsoft but as not everything is compatible and that could screw up drives and booting its recommended to leave things alone unless you know what you are doing.
It may or may not role out though.
