Covenant Health is covered in recent breaches of the week

In Nick Espinoza’s breaches of the week from Dec 29-Jan 4, this was one that was talked about.

The article mentions that a ransomware group called the Qilin ransomware group is looking like it is taking responsibility of the breach.

The company serves Massachusetts and other surrounding areas, according to the article.

The typical suspects of names, addresses, dates of birth, medical record numbers, social security numbers, health insurance info and treatment info may be pilfered within the data stolen.

The first number when first under investigation was 78,000 but now it is 478,000 people. Nick says that this isn’t good when they added the 4.

The breach was discovered last May, and reported its initial findings in July.
